What do you like?
on this one, i like the higher key exposure, and the slight bit of colour remaining in the flowers
Helpful 1 2 May 2012What would you improve?
overall i prefer the other one. mainly because the shape of the flames look better, as if its radiating out from the center of the flowers. but i realise you obviously can't control that.
i also found that the flowers in the previous one were nice and crisp while the flame was smooth and etheril (spelling?!). in this one, there is a bit to much grain around the flames and background for me.. -

I cant think of anything.
Jackx1@kanonkop On this image I was trying to go for a tootaly different treatment as I wanted it to look old and kind of weathered with out going into black and white or a sepia treatment.
2 May 2012The grain was introduced during post work and is really part of the image look that I was going for, so really it is all a matter of prefrence. It also adds more of a painting feel to the image I think.
Honestly I also prefer the black and white version. As to the way fire behaves there is really no controlling it, these images where shot outside, a simple breeze or wind can really create a different effect on the fire or smoke. :) thanks againg for all the great feedback :)
