The cage is a little distracting and detracts from the bird. Unless you want to achieve the feeling of being in captivity then you need to consider the background in future shots, it makes a big difference to how you feel about the picture....

As said below, the fact that the bird is looking right at you is awesome -- as are the lines of the branch! Nice detail on his feathers. Awesome that you could get such a sharp image of him close up.

Try to increase the exposure/brightness of this picture just a little. The picture feels just a tad underexposed. Fortunately if you took this in RAW, you should be able to lighten it up a bit in editing!
As far as those cage lines go, there are quite a few methods you could try in Photoshop to lessen those, and help them be less distracting! -
