Thanks for the feedback. This photo wasn't sharpened at all in post processing, and LR3 doesn't let me "unsharpen", so it's off to GIMP to experiment with softening the face!

The colour of the image is great as are the eyes.

I'd soften the skin a bit. That kind of detail doesn't work with the "soft feeling" of the image created by the colour tones.

i have come back to this image many times and believe i might have come to some conclusion .......to my eye.

the absotute clarity in the eyes compeats to some degree with the somewhat harsh rendtition of the face.Its not so much an image of innocence but a disturbing image that one cant quite put a finger on.......Balance in capture and concept -

in order for a capture to be outstanding everything about the shot has to be in harmony.The eyes are in both shots fantastic but the rest of the image lacks cohesion and balance.Just my opionion though
