try get hold of lightroom. it rocks and lets you adjust the saturation of indavidual colours. saturation is a tricky, and its easy to over do it. generally increasing the contrast boost the colours nicely without making it look artificial. also, programs like light room or photoshop have a 'vibrance' adjustment, which increases your saturation in a more gentle way (if i remember correct, the amount it increases the saturation is weighed to lighter tones).

for me, the colours are a bit oversaturated, particularly the greens. its almost a bit distracting and now the plants and background stand out more than the squirrel.

BedfordRed@kanonkop I see what you mean about the green. I tried to boost the colours in the fur but the green has come up too high as well. I'm looking at new software just now that will give me the accuracy in future. As before, thanks for taking the time to critique my image, greatly appreciated - I post on this site to learn and invite constructive opinion such as yours.
