- My sister-in-law asked if I would take pictures of her boys since her photographer decided to get out of the business. This was one of the shots I got that made for a nice portrait.

What do you like?
Exposure looks good to me, and this has a nice color palette. (Did you post process?) I like the profile, the child's round cheeks and high forehead really emphasize this stage in development. The DOF works well and makes for a nice shot.
23 May 2012What would you improve?
Straighten image so the pole is true vertical.
Composition/ Crop - I would recommend cropping a little tighter, but there are some drawbacks. Cropping on the left would result in a disembodied hand, and you don't want that. Go tighter on the right and the bottom to eliminate the big red spot on the bottom (it's probably a slide but with such a tight shot it's out of context), and also, it will eliminate the handless arm.
Kymbirleigh@PASM111 Thanks for the feedback! As far as processing I really just brightened the image up a bit. It had just started to rain. It was shot during a very overcast drab kind of day.
24 May 2012As for cropping, I guess the old rule of less is more had me scared to over-crop! I'll have to go back in and see if I can crop it and take out the slide at the bottom...
