Hi! It was a quite simple work. I have a Nikon D300 with only one lense I use for everything. It's a 18-200 VR G-ED Af wichbasically makes a not so sharp capture, so I had to raise the contrast and sharpness allready in the camera software with a bit of more vivid colors and hue (knowing I will convert to bw and converting is better when you have good colorsso I work with Adobe RGB). Then @ postwork, I add some more of this two (contrast, sharpness) after converting the color photo to bw. Converting I do by channel to channel (RGB) using layers. Then step by step I comprehend all the wrinkles to original, correct where necessary by laying them on each other. This method can be called slightly primitive:), but I like it. Naturally not all photos are suitable for this rough method. Also, in every time I use raw photos and I have nearly allways on the lense a circular polar filter.

I lsee a different emotion every time I look at this picture. It's kind of like a working man's Mona Lisa. I wish I'd taken it.

For my taste it's a bit too "HDR"ish, but it's a personal opinion

What do you like?
I like the detail, the contrast and the way he looks at the camera.
12 June 2012What would you improve?
Just nitpicking. The edge of the nose looks a bit soft compared to the rest of the image. I don't know if it's because of my my eyes or the processing. I'm not sure about the border either. Personally I'd try a white border.
