Guys, help please!!

i think the elements and compostion of this picture has potential, as there is a nice balance between Natasha and the gazeebo, to where she is heading.

but the colours / tones are just so boring and uninteresting. its difficult cause it was bright and everything is washed out. So there isn't much to work with.

Any ideas on what i could do to make this picture pop.

converting to B&W is an option, therefore removing the colour which essentially highlights the action / content of the photo. but i think B&W could look a bit dull.

I've allowed revisions to be uploaded to feel free to play around

cool thanks @guicamins, good point! ya, guess we'll call it my Mr. Mustard period then hahah

ya never thought of that regarding her t-shirt colour, but now that you mention it, it makes sense.

    cheers

Before I answer your question, I would like to point something out that I failed to do previously. The only thing that I wish was different about your shot is the matching colors of the shirt and sand. Had she been wearing, for example, blue, I would have given it a perfect ten.

Now, as far as editing all photos the same way, it wouldn't bother me at all. There is this amazing photographer I follow on Google+ who created many pictures using the same colors and they all pleased me very much. You can find examples like that in paintings and music, too. May we call this trip your mustard period. Picasso had a blue period, so you are allowed to some mustard =)

thanks for the comment Fred @fredclarkphotography. oh yes, i forgot you work at the snow resort. do you ever shoot any of the snow boarders / skiers. I'm sure you have a lot more skilled people there than here haha. Sand boarding isn't huge, and with no lifts to take you to the top of the dune, it gets pretty tiring haha.

thanks @guicamins, i appreciated your comments. So with regards to the non realistic effect, if its one photo in an album where the colours look unrealistic, its ok. but how would you feel if all the the photos from this trip were edited in this way? do you think it would bother you?

The one after PP has my heart. I agree with the non realistic look, but it does have a nicer mood. This is the kind of effect I am getting into and to me it made your picture more emotional. Thanks for sharing!

this is what i've done so far, basically added mustard yellow to hights and light blue to low lights, using split tone editing.

Looks nice but perhaps not quite realistic..
