@DennisG thanks again Dennis as always very kind :)
by Jackx1 6 April in reply to DennisG@dakkurt Thanks for the feed back, no unfortunately I did not take a shot of the whole caterpillar I was really trying to get the water drops into the scene :)
by Jackx1 6 April in reply to dakkurtWhat do you like?
Very nice details and colors. Very good focus on subject and perfect DOF.
What would you improve?
It is very nice as is. Any shot show whole of the caterpillar?
What do you like?
G'day Jack, The lighting in this very fine Nature study is exquisite and the blue/green colour contrast, (that my Grandma used to abhor), is most pleasing.
Detail is fine and crisp and that waterdrop is a sweet bonus.

What would you improve?
No suggestions for improvement from me mate.
@Colleen Thanks Colleen :)

by sarajil 31 January@loconewman Thanks, glad you like it, maybe next time I will try to get a shot of the feeding.
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to loconewman@KarolusLinus @nineyoii Thanks guys for the feedback very appreciated. :)
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to KarolusLinus@dandoval I tried several shots on an angle with this guy, how ever they have very little interest from a sront angle as all the detail is on there side. However I did get some nice shallow DOF shot in a more frontal approach. Thanks for the suggestion, But its a bit to late for it now as he has become food for my pet Dragon.
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to dandoval@roderikk Thanks, for the feedback, now that you mentioned it ... I see that you are absolutely right, I should have corrected that. Thanks for your help.
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to roderikk@fredclarkphotography Thanks Fred, you know I thought about you after I took this shot.... You deal with these guys do you not ? if so what do they eat ?
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to fredclarkphotographyGreat close up, nice detail and clarity
by fredclarkphotography 30 JanuaryWhat do you like?
Wow. Great shot, and love the technique you described below. I also love the detail in the drop of water, it makes it much more than a 'standard' macro shot of a catterpillar.
What would you improve?
I think the little twig that is in focus on the bottom-left is a little bit distracting. Also the worm is a tad too dark still so my eyes keep being drawn to the lighter background. Maybe you can burn in the worm a little to make it pop out a little more?
What do you like?
Colors, reflection, drop, and lighting. It all works really well together in this shot. It comes together VERY nicely.
What would you improve?
Im curious if you shot any from a slightly more frontal view. Not a lot , but just slightly. I think it may look interesting.
I like the vivid colors and they are contrasting, that's cool!
by KarolusLinus 30 Januarybeautiful colors cool shot :)
by nineyoii 30 JanuaryWow amazing detail,
by loconewman 30 JanuaryWould love to see a shot of the dragon and him. Great photo
@halowormsbey Thanks, LOL ,Yes Dragons must eat
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to halowormsbeyseems such a shame to feed him to the dragon when he made such a good subject but even dragons have to eat. love the colours in this shot and the detail is amazing
by halowormsbey 30 January@barrington Thanks I am glad you like it.
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to barrington@ViewsOfParadise I started shooting this guy yesterday, I took well over 60 shots and this guy would not stay still, I got very frustrated and decided to stop. Got back at it today and tried to figure out how to keep, him from moving, so I thought, Hmmm , these guys love to eat... how ever I did not want to have it eating some weird looking stuff so I tried water and also rubbed cheese on the stick, I know its strange, but it worked. Todays session was only about 20 shot half of them good.
by Jackx1 30 January in reply to ViewsOfParadiseYes it is funny that we both shot caterpillars. Mine how ever is being fed to my pet BeardedDragon.
LOL .... Looks like a caterpillar kind of night for the two of us!!! Great photo. Very detailed and extremely sharp. How many photos did it take till you had a nice one? It took me about 15 shots before I had a couple good ones because mine was continuously on the move.
by ViewsOfParadise 30 JanuaryLovely, great detali. The two droplets, above and below the twig add extra interest.
