by NewZealand 17 February in reply to CraigHarris@NewZealand yeah great hobby and you are good at it
by modedial 17 February in reply to NewZealandI prefer this to your previous shot, I agree with @roderikk and I think that you should get a little lower and leave the horizon a 3rd of the way up the picture, being slightly further to your left might help a little too.
by CraigHarris 17 February@modedial Thanks fro the complement. need to get a fog machine that could be fun.
by NewZealand 17 February in reply to modedialYes I have a Google+1 account have not used it for long time still need to figure it out. I have a face book account I use a lot. just started to post my work on there. This is all just a hobby for me at this time but was thinking of doing up sets of greeting cards to also sell on our website.
@NewZealand that boat with fog and a blue tint = Awesomeness although i think it looks great as it is i am just imagining it coming out of the fog
by modedial 16 February in reply to NewZealandare you on Google+ i think you would get a lot of followers on there
@roderikk Thanks for the feedback I did a little processing I can see where you talk about the mountains thats the opening to the bay. I could try to shift the ship some hehehe Next time we get a storm in at high tide I'm going out to get some more shots. I think we have a high tide this evening at sunset. if there are no winds I will go up and do some long exposure with a nd filter to get the fog look of the water around it.

I love the detail in this shot, and how the green on the ship is also present on the sand in the beach. I like the depth in the image as well. Did you process it to get this amount of detail? Definitely an object worth exploring though!
What would you improve?
I think there is a slight halo around the darker parts of the ship contrasting with the lighter sky. Probably due to a little bit over use of sharpening. I feel there is some detail lacking in the shadows. Most importantly though I think it looks a little bit strange to have the hills in the background go 'into' the ship and not come out the other side. To me that creates quite an imbalance.
