If the opportunity to take another picture like this arises I think I'd try using a smaller aperture so more is in focus and the audience could also see the little details in the snail that seem so fascinating. For this image though I think I'd try blurring the upper left hand corner to remove the car from the background, and to my eyes the subjects hands seem a little overexposed, perhaps you could experiment with that to try and bring a little more detail into the hands and fingernails.
