- Description:
- My niece was in the front yard waiting to leave with her parents. I was getting spontaneous shots of her and her brother while they played. She turned and looked at me when I got this one. There is not a whole lot of processing in this other than adjusting exposure, sharpness, and brightness, and of course desaturating to B&W using Lightroom.

What do you like?
It's a nice soft image. I quite like the high key approach.

Perhaps a bit more clarity on her eyes and eyebrows to make it less soft. That way it would make her eyes stand out even better. It's possible to put clarity in locally with a brush in LR 4.

What do you like?
I really, really like this, but I think it could have some improvements too. I think overexposure works very well here. Good lighting (especially on her eyes)!

I don't mind her soft skin, but it looks too unnatural on her eyebrows, hair and eyes. Even though I said overexposure works well, I don't like how the shirt blends into the background making her head look like it's floating. :)

PASM111@kavian Thanks for the feedback. I'm still working on this image and will experiment with your suggestions. Her shirt is white, so getting more contrast there will take some work with an adjustment brush as I don't want to affect the tone of the skin on the arm. Maybe even use the brush to soften skin without affecting the whole image. I saw a tutorial on that earlier this year, so time to put that knowledge to work!

i thnk maybe a bit of dark cloth on her it would be better contrast in the image ,but i think you wanted to look soft
PASM111@bjorn Thanks bjorn. I'm actually a LR3 user, and it's possible there too. I've been working on this one and did bring back some of the eyebrow and eye detail that way. I've also added clarity and detail to the shirt.
