- Taken on a fogy morning I wanted to convey a feeling of serenity, tranquility and convey to others that the long tradition of fishing from small boats is not all lost to big commercial fishing boats. I chose to use a vignette to make the photo appear as it was from a time long past. (despite the use of a motor) Converted to B+W because in the original the oil skin coat of the fisherman in the bow was wearing was a brilliant orange and the overall cast of the photo was a cold gray that seemed (to me any way) present a feeling of harsh adversity when in fact the day was warming up and the sun eventually burned the fog off. I also added a film grain effect so that it would more correspond to a film print as opposed to a modern day digital image.
Looks nice on fine art paper framed in a simple black washed pine frame.
