- Thought I'd give the "Polar Panorama Effect" a try. Have seen these all over Flicker and figured I could easily do this. Found the instructions on the net (just google Polar Panorama).
You don't need a fancy DSLR either. Any camera will do, even some of the newer Smart Phones can do a panorama (180deg works best. Can be done in either Photoshop or Gimp.
The hard part is cloning and/or healing where the two ends meet.
So, I went down the shore to Lower West Pubnico where they have a fair sized wind farm, chose a spot near the shore, set up and clicked away. This panorama consists of 7 shots with a 20 percent overlap. Make sure your tripod is exactly level and go to town.

Holleeee smokes, Keith..! That is really creative and stunning!! Honestly - I'd never heard of a Polar Panorama (I guess I live a somewhat sheltered life ;) ) - but, I wonder how the "Portsmouth Pano" I posted back in January would work..? WOW - nicely done!!! Congrats!10 April 2014
