- Here is the published description. I feel the picture may lack focus so I would appreciate inputs.
The kings of Hawaii Island kept royal residences all around the island where they stayed during their annual trip to collect their tributes. One located at Honaunau has been partially restored and is part of the National Park system. A common feature of these residences was an artificial fish pond where seafood was stored in anticipation of the king's visit. This is one of several ponds at Honaunau.
(For my friends at Focussion. These ponds do have fish in them. Except for one. During the Japanese tsunami, a barracuda got swept into one and it is still there.)

I keep looking for something I don't like? Wonderful colors, excellent composition and sharp as a tack. While I see some strange artifacts in the sky (magenta and color bands), I'm guessing those are artifacts of the resize to meet the size limitations of the site (it's happened to an image or two of mine as well..).28 April 2014
Joe, lovely image all together. While I'd have loved to see a little visual space above the top palm - I'd forego it given the wonderful bottom half of the image. Nicely done!! If you ever have the opportunity to reshoot this - I'd sacrifice a bit off the bottom to bring in that top of the tree with a small band of sky above..
Anyway - simply a wonderful shot..! Congrats!
The photograph is beautiful and the history that goes with it just adds so much interest as well. Thanks for sharing Joe.27 April 2014
Hi Joe. This is an interesting shot, at first it reminded me of something off a film set for a fantasy movie. After reading your notes I took a second look, what an amazing spot. I love the shot, I can not think of anything you can do to improve it. Mike.27 April 2014
