- The Ardennes
- A few weeks ago we were in the Ardennes in a large shelter from the first world war. This was a spot where a huge canon was positioned, the light was shining in, but we couldn't get out from here.
I took the photo with a small gorillapod (tripod) with the timer.

The dramatic lighting is awesome. The composition is as well. Make me wonder, as many great photographs do!14 June 2014

The composition of this image is quite interesting. I´m not sure is "correct" - but it´s as beautiful as it can get. :) You have at least 2 areas of interest that compete with a third one. You have the "door"(that it´s not a door and apparently goes nowhere), you have the three of you, and then all this makes you look up and wonder what´s there.Helpful 1 13 June 2014
There´s a story(as it always is, in your images) and it´s very well said.
I agree with Richard and John about the exposure, but I think it would have been extremely difficult to keep the highlights ok(as the shadows are already starting to look underexposed). The way it´s overexposed adds to the story.
And I also like how the three of you look upwards.
When I first saw this I was instantly drawn to it. What are they looking at and where is this place. It is a very interesting subject matter and historical place which adds to the story behind the photo. I like it a lot.......Linda13 June 2014
