What do you like?
Well spotted and a great reminder of what used to be. Interesting details and well composed.
What would you improve?
Over exposure and detail loss in the top right corner.

What do you like?
I like old things, too. This is a great subject and great shot.
What would you improve?
Have you considered going totally black and white? Or perhaps bringing back some color in the grass all the way around? That might emphasize the desaturated tractor even more. Just a thought.

What do you like?
Super cool subject material for a photo.
What would you improve?
Some suggestions for improvement. 1. Increase the saturation a bit, this will make the red of the tractor and green of the grass stand out.2. Darken the exposure a tad, this will deepen the colors of the red and help reduce the blown out effect from the sunlight. 3.Then darken a shadows a very small bit. 4. I would also experiment in taking photos from different angles... like shooting up toward tractor or from the front with a shallow DOF. This is an excellent subject for practicing your photography skills.

ItalianDreamer@ViewsOfParadise Hi, Thank you very much for the comment.

About the colours was my intention to put it in that way. The Idea of Old, dead colours, to transmit that idea.Yes i would dark, yheap, that very right, that right side is to bright.
Taking from other angles ??? Lol, Cant, That place was a mess, to much garbage and things you don't want to know. But when i see another one like this i will tried It, Thank you very much and best regards

Hello my friend!!!
Helpful 1 25 February 2014
This comment might surprise you a bit, and that is OK. Let me explain... I saw your image earlier today, and I was thinking about what I would write some time later when I came home from work. I thought about some suggestions that I see, or perhaps a bit different framing. And, in my mind - I already composed what I would say....
But...
I am not going to tell you what I think....
Rather - I am going to do something very different with you, that I have never done on this site. And I will tell you, the only reason I will do this with you, specifically, Daniel? Is because you are what I think is very advanced in both your technique for images and I know your "creative" style - which is "stunning". So - in many ways - this is a compliment to you, my friend...
So, here is what I will ask you to do....
I want you to look at your image - and pretend it is mine. Now, I want YOU to tell ME what you think I can do better with this image - which was "yours", but pretending - it is now "mine". ;)
My guess, given what I think your abilities are?
You will say exactly to me - what I was going to say to you if I had written a critique...
Why do I think that? Because your images are excellent - and one of the most difficult things we have to do, is "critique" our own images. So - do you want to try this one, for example?
My best to you always - and I hope that you reply with your own critique, and then - I'll tell you what I originally was going to write, OK?

ItalianDreamer@johndunkle Hi John, This is difficult :D

Ok lets be honest
OK First of all let me transmit my idea for this one.
I wanted to at the same time show that was an old tractor,Destroyed, an old, and that's Why i desaturated a bit and show only the weak colour of the tractor, this was the idea.
Now as auto-critic its must worse :D ahahahah. You put me in a difficult Situation :D
Ok First I Think the Right Side is very exposed. To much Light, about the colours I said that was my intention to keep it that way, maybe dark the Sun blows to keep the homogeneous color of the tractor, that Left side as 1 cm that as unnecessary, so i would Cropped to pull up the tractor and definitely add more contrast, but this difficult, I work With my Imac 27" and the light, contrast, colours seems different from other monitors, i don't know, when i work there the colours are awesome, the lights, the effects, and then when i work here in my laptop it seems that is a little more fainted, I don't know. Well my friend this is my humble opinion,
PS: this place was a mess when I take the shoot, but hey its a risk :)
Love this new type of critic, it put you to the test and i have so much to learn
Best regards My Friend, and once more thank you for all of your patience for me ;) -
johndunkleOutstanding..... Simply "outstanding" my dear friend... In fact - you mentioned everything I was thinking about the colors and the highlights - and then added in about the crop, which you are "right" on about... In fact, that is something you saw, and I didn't until you mentioned it....

Simply amazing, Daniel!!!
About your monitors..? What I use is something called a ColorMunki (http://www.colormunki.com/). It works on both my Mac and my PCs and also, my laptop. Also, for the professional printers I have - it will create an ICC for each, and will also profile each paper - and then match them to my monitors. It's a bit expensive, but - it does an outstanding job..
Also - I smile a bit when you say two things... First - "this place was a mess when I take the shoot," HA!!! Yes sir! I know exactly what you mean ;)
And second - what you say: "..to the test and i have so much to learn.." For that - I also smile a lot, as I also have a lot to learn too - -but share with you some of the things that I learned and how I learned them..
You are an amazing photographer, and I'm honored to call you my friend...
Your critique about your own photo??
"Right On"....
And that should make you smile even a bit more...
My thanks and my best,
- John -

PhotoLoreWell, I was smiling all the time while I read your replies, this was awesome! And also, it´s the first time I marked as Helpful the critique of the owner of the photo, so that´s something different! :)
28 February 2014 -
ItalianDreamerHi @PhotoLore Can I ask why you smille?
28 February 2014 -
PhotoLoreBecause I liked it, and it was interesting to see how you two had an awesome dialog! The kind of critique you gave yourself it´s what Focussion is all about, and when you learn to do it for yourself you become a better and greater photographer. :) [Also, I tend to smile a lot haha]

ItalianDreamerHi @jvittek, I try it yes, but, was no good, I liked more to give that faint colour to give that look of abandon and old, just for that.
