- My Mom's painting workbench.
The ink pots, the brushes and palettes, the color stained spots everything is so colorful that seems almost like a painting itself.
The light is only the present light from the room illumination and the spotlight in the picture. No natural light in it. - Tag(s):

What do you like?
What a great image, my eyes get drawn from one place to another taking in all the bits and bobs.
What would you improve?
I like the lighting and think the table light really adds to this shot although I do agree think the ring of light in the lamp could be toned down just a tad

What do you like?
LOVE the colours. the composition is great as well, its hard to do with many different things in the frame. Love the mood created by the lighting....overall its stunning.
What would you improve?
umm....perhaps adjust the angle of the lamp as the white circle it creates is sort of harsh.

smmurtaHi Joey, totally agree. I'll try some variations with different angles and see if I can get it with less direct light. I really like the idea of the lamp showing in the picture just need to avoid the light bulb. Thanks for the FB.

Very interesting photo with loads of potential what with the photo being art... of art! What I would do is perhaps try a few things with the light as the shadows are pretty harsh and the light itself is a bit distracting. You could try point the light the other way or maybe add a second light? Defo give it a go and upload a revision as the results would be good to see.

smmurtaThanks for the feedback, Spotfist. I kept the lamp and the harsh shadows to add some old feeling to the picture, as if it was taken in a badly illuminated atelier. But I can see your points, a smoother light and shadows may bring a more balanced picture. I'll give it a try and post the results.

smmurtaHi Steve, I totally agree with you. I'm waiting for a chance to take another shot as right now the workbench is quite busy with ongoing work. I'll post a revision as soon as I get it. Thanks a lot!
