- The Palace of Culture and Science is the main landmark of Warsaw. In this photograph it is reflecting in a street poster.
The Palace was built as a gift from Stalin for People's Republic of Poland in the 1950's. It was much hated as reminded Poles about Soviet occupation. After Poland gained freedom in 1989, there was a plan of destroying the Palace. Thankfully it's still there as a reminder of a painful communistic history.
