How refreshing it is to see someone think outside the square when confronted with the question, "Just what can I do to make a 'different' hoverfly photograph?'. I am sure your approach would have been far different if your brief was for a nice clear, clean biological study.
I really like how the partially hidden and softly blurred elements of this image make my eye concentrate so strongly on the subject. So strongly in fact that it ignores the powerful pull of the purple.

This is a super cool photo. The colors are awesome, the lighting is good and I like the focus. This is a photo I think would look good blown up, put onto canvas and hung on a wall!!
