Love the wide angle lens :)6 November 2011
I'm not convinced that additional lighting, or a different arrangement of lighting would have made this shot better. I think the lighting, the way you have it, is dramatic & fitting for the location.
I think, however, that this shot would be much stronger if you cropped in tighter from top-right, making the man with gun more of the main subject & the woman secondary.
This also takes out the bulk of the lighting problem behind the woman, with the remaining area an easy fix with a targeted curves tweak.
Making the woman a secondary subject in the image also makes the poor lighting on the woman herself less important, because the man is better lit to start with, so it fits better within the hierarchy.
Looks like it was a fun time making this photo. I'm friends with a film maker, and always enjoy doing behind-the-scenes still shots when he's filming a project:)
Good action shot. I would agree that the lighting could be toned down a tad, but otherwise a very nice photo.6 November 2011
Cool concept. But I think the lighting here throws me off a bit; it's a bit too uniform in front of them (as if they were running out of a parking deck) with no kicker behind them. I think it would have been more dramatic if the light to camera left had been moved behind the subjects to camera right, as a kicker. Or any number of other setups, just something a little more dramatic and 'dark' for this dramatic scene.6 November 2011
Interesting photo, well captured. The girls waste level is a bit lost in the scene I had to look close at the image to find it, maybe a lighter color shirt/jacket would help out. The lighting is well done and captures the mood well.Helpful 1 5 November 2011
