your display pic also has pretty good lighting..
as @luc said the thhumbnail was a better crop..

great lightning, nice composition.. a landscape crop would probably be a better choice. I like how the light bounces off the bandage and forearm.

This is a good photo. I like @MartinVitek suggestion about having blood on the hand, that would make the story much more intense.

LOVE THIS! great lighting, the BW is perfect for this image. you might be able to get away with focusing more on the hand and losing some of the arm....
