the selective coloring could have merged with b/w with some reduction in vibrance, i like that effect...this stands out harshly.1 April 2011
Honestly, I was at a show the other day, with Matt Kloskowski, from http://lightroomkillertips.com/ and he was explaining how to fix up portrait shots, by smoothing the skin using layer masks. So I thought I'd give the technique a try here. You know sometimes you see a B/W shot of a person but then the eyes are colored. Something along those lines.15 March 2011
During the conversion to B/W, I did boost the Reds a bit and general contrast, but I think the color still had more punch to it.
was worth a try.. i think the B&W part could still be improved a bit, seems like theres some room to boost the contrast a bit. but don't think you'll beat the colour version. how about inverting the colours on the colour version, for something wacky...15 March 2011
