What would you improve?
its nice as it is
The contrast of the blue doors against the rusty look of the buildings is very neat. Makes for an interesting photo.
by ViewsOfParadise 4 DecemberThanks very much @Colleen and @icecraze !
by JmG 7 April 2011 in reply to ColleenAwesome! I love the contrast between the earthen tone and the blue really beautiful!
by icecraze 7 April 2011love the colors, angles, and how the blue compliments the rust
by Colleen 6 April 2011@travis Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it!
by JmG 4 April 2011 in reply to travis@JmG like the new sky, but the rest of that gallery is awesome too!
by travis 4 April 2011For those who told me about the sky, and if interested to see the new look —then—, a new version is viewable here:

I think it's, indeed, better! Thanks again! :)
@Patricia I didn't want to crop from the top because I wanted to keep the stones and textures of the upper left window.
by JmG 3 April 2011 in reply to PatriciaThanks for passing by... :)
:) You with your pp skills, I'm sure you can put in another sky.
by Patricia 3 April 2011Now what I would do because the bright sky is really asking to much attention, is crop out from the top up untill the gutter.
@JmG - yup the Terry Gilliams one. I know it doesn't match exactly, but the feel of the shot sparks a memory :)
by travis 3 April 2011@JmG ah, i see, re the perspective and buildings. glad you didn't correct it then, its nice and genuine
by kanonkop 3 April 2011 in reply to JmG@travis Which Brazil, the Terry Gilliams one?
by JmG 3 April 2011 in reply to travis(if so, thanks, I love him as a director!)
Thanks everybody!
by JmG 3 April 2011I must precise that the blue shades are real, I mean, they're really blue, In only twicked the colors to render them like fluorescent, or so, but the basic coloring of the walls, the shades, and everything, is in those real tints to start with.
For the blown out sky, message well received, I'll definitively add one in another version then! :)
Thanks again for all the cool feedbacks!
Colors reflect the atmosphere , time and space of the shot. A familiar feel 2 these streets. Like the photo^^
by teneeattoh 3 April 2011Nice feel to this shot, dramatic colours odd lines, reminds me somehow of that art movie called Brazil. Very nice
by travis 3 April 2011Wow this photo looks wonderful and the composition is really nice. But I think you overdid it a bit (for a normal photo, you overdid it too much but you wanted something "weird" so it's only a bit) with the saturation. This strong saturation let it look unreal and the houses doesn't look ancient as they are and the blue is a bit disturbing. Another thing is that the sky is blown out. Maybe you try to to take two photos one with right exposure on the sky and another like this. Then you'll could have the sky and the city well exposed after you merged both photos. Anyways it's a great "weird" photo with nice details.
by darkSoul4Life 3 April 2011@kanonkop if you mean that the walls are not straight, they indeed are not! These are very old streets in an old village and those ancient houses are not straight.
by JmG 2 April 2011 in reply to kanonkopPlus the perspective, indeed, that I did not want to correct to keep the sense of surealism, it gives this.
Thanks man!
nice surreal colours, nice break from reality.
by kanonkop 2 April 2011is it just me or is there some kind of perspective distortion or something? do you see it as well or are my eyes are playing tricks on me..
@Earthdrtr Yes, you're absolutely right about the sky. Blue, or with clouds... Maybe I'll trick it on another version.
by JmG 2 April 2011 in reply to EarthdrtrThanks! :)
I love the vibrant, violent colored buildings! Wish that the sky had been blue when you shot the picture so it could be violently vibrant as well!!!
by Earthdrtr 2 April 2011Thanks guys! The idea was "rusty city", so of course, the colors must be "violent"! :)
by JmG 2 April 2011@samhegde bit burned for me too !
by stran9e 2 April 2011 in reply to samhegdelove this composition
I like the composition :) colors seem slightly off. Maybe the sky could have some more detail.
