It´s been a while since the last time I´ve been around here, but I can still tell when a picture belongs to you. Great portrait, as always :)12 June 2011
Patricia, you have a great way of capturing the eyes of your subjects. Well done... yet again :D11 June 2011
But don't you think that shooting horizontally, @JmG, would substract the attention from the eyes, the look, which makes this photo somehow special? I would not crop the cup of the head, but I think vertical orientation isolates the subject and catches the attention to the details...7 June 2011
You, in general, worldwide, people ask kids to smile when shooting at them!2 June 2011
Not you! :))
And that's good, of course.
On this one, though, I think you shouldn't have cut the top of the head, since you have his chest in the frame.
Cuting out the head can be allright in a very close-up portrait, but I find this one unbalanced because of this, here.
Also, I would have liked better if not shot vertically. The exact same composition (but with the entire head) in an horizontal framing, with the boy not in the center of course, would have been very powerful I think.
