Backing up
do you guys back up your photos? and how.
its just a matter of time until your computer is stolen or you hard drive crashes or you get a virus, or what ever, and then everything is lost. hence i'm a bit fanatic about backing up.
i always worked with a system where once i had taken about 4gigs of photos, i would burnt it onto a dvd, store that, and keep an electronic back up on my computer. its a great system, but now size is an issue because one photo mission is more than 4 gigs of photos.
is there a way to compress the photos perhaps?
how do you guys back up your images?
cheers

I've seen 2TB external HDD's. Use Time Machine if you have an iMac - works perfect & is even better with the new OS X.

1T external hard drive and its almost full. Label and date the folder according to the pics, get a fire protected safe and keep it in there along with anything else your really don't want to loose.

I've always been told to keep just 3 of your favorite shots per shoot, but I can't get myself to delete the rest. -

dam, doesn't seem like there is a good solution to backing up hard copies. it really freaks me out that you can loose years of memories so easily.
@Aljan is it not possible to zip a file with images so that its compressed and then burn that onto DVD? -

I burn raw files, and converted files all to DVD 4.7G disks. Have over 100 disks burnt. Would like to have a terabyte+ external drive as well. Keeping track of whats on each disk is a pain, usually only date them then record what files are on each disk on a spread sheet.

Now speaking of virus, I use malware bytes, this has rescued my PC from an infection many times, the virus has taken my PC but have used safe mode to open malware it cleans it out. And its free to use, just google it. -
